The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are delighted to welcome back defenceman Tom Norton on a 2 year deal.

Nottingham born and trained Norton has completed an active season with 63 games at the EIHL Nottingham Panthers and helping them to a Challenge Cup victory.

A familiar name to Phantoms fans, Tom iced for the team during the 12/13 season with twenty four points and some memorable long range goals.

Talking about his return, Tom said, “I’m really pleased and excited to be putting on a Phantoms shirt again. I really enjoyed my previous season with the club and I’d always hoped the door was never closed on me making a return as the organisation and the fans were amazing.”

Looking forward he told us, “Next season I hope I can help the team be defensively strong and also contribute in the offensive zone when it is appropriate. As a team I want us to be challenging for cups and the top half of the table; I feel the team Slava is putting together is more than capable of doing that”.

Peterborough DALROD Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov was delighted with the signing, saying: “I am very pleased that Tom is returning to us for the next two seasons. He was one of the top British D in the league two seasons ago before he made the step up to Elite League Nottingham Panthers. Last season he got regular ice time with Nottingham and now can bring that experience to Phantoms.”

He continued, “Tom knows the Peterborough setup, so it will be an easy transition for him. I spoke to Nortz about our plans, where we want to be and he knows what responsibility he will have. I have no doubt in his quality and ability; he will be a leader on and off the ice!”
