The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are delighted to announce that popular forward Will Weldon has signed a two year contract through the 2015-16 season.

Nottingham based Weldon first iced for the club in the 2011/12 season making an immediate impact with his fast and agile skating and fearless attitude. His efforts were rewarded last season as he was appointed Alternate (assistant) Captain, going on to score 8 goals for a season total of 25 points.

Peterborough DALROD Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov recently commented on the return of Weldon. “I am pleased to announce that’s ‘Welds’ has extended his contract for another two years.

“In the three months I have been here I really liked what I have seen from him on and off the ice. He was one of the first guys I spoke to before the season finished. He plays smart hockey, gives no less then 100% every game and well liked in the dressing room.

“On top of his usual qualities, he came up with some big goals in important game changing moments for the team and I am looking forward to see more of that next season!”

Looking forward to next season, Welds said of the news, “I’m excited to be staying with the team in what promises to be an exciting period of hockey. The team that Slava is putting together looks good and I know that we are all looking to push on and take this club to the next level.

“I view Peterborough as my team and I will be doing everything I can to help the team succeed over the next 2 seasons.”
