The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are delighted to announce the return of Peterborough born and trained Luke Ferrara for the coming 2014/15 season. This is a two-way arrangement with the Elite League Sheffield Steelers.

Having come through the Peterborough Junior system, the recently turned 21-year old already has significant GB experience having represented both the Under 18 and Under 20 squads, the latter as an Alternate Captain. As a Phantom, Luke has scored 86 goals and 186 points in 286 games, plus scoring on his EIHL debut for the Cardiff Devils in Belfast.

Talking about his return for the 2014/15 season Luke said: “I’m really happy and feel great about being back. I love playing for my hometown team so I’m really looking forward to the new season and doing my bit. We can beat every team, we just need to believe we can.”

On speaking about the two-way deal Luke said, “I’m looking to develop again so my aim is to always be better than the season before. The step up will present it’s own challenges and I can’t wait to get started.”

Speaking about Ferrara’s return, Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov told us, “Luke is an all-round player who reads the game well and can play in different positions and situations. I remember his game-winning goal against the Sheffield Steeldogs last season to keep our playoff chances alive. His passion, belief and determination for the Phantoms are second to none!”

Slava continued, “He is a British 30-plus goal scorer and I trust him in important moments. All of this and he is only 21 years old! I believe he will have a long successful career in hockey and I am elated he is with us for another year.”
