The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are happy to announce the return of British utility player Jason Buckman for the 2014/15 season.

Peterborough born Jason began his senior career with the Peterborough Pirates in 1998 and spent the majority of his career playing in Peterborough. Buckman has also guested for the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL before spending four and a half seasons with the Romford Raiders, thenreturned home to Peterborough part way through last season.

Speaking about his return to the team, Jason said: “I’m really happy to be back with the Phantoms; coming back just after Christmas last year was always going to be difficult walking into a spot midway through the season, but I worked hard for the rest of the year.”

He continued, “I’m grateful to Slava for giving me the opportunity to come back this season and hopefully with my experience and work ethic I can contribute to Phantoms being competitive this year.”

Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov had the following to say on Buckman’s return: “I am happy to see that Jason decided to stay with Phantoms this season. He is an experienced player, who can play in both forward and defence positions and that’s valuable to any team. Last year he joined us after Christmas and hadn’t been given regular opportunity to play and still he was always positive and put the team before himself. That’s good character and I am looking forward to working with him for the full season.”
