The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are delighted to announce the return of Equipment Manager Callum Owen.

Owen, who returns for his sixth season as the Phantoms’ Equipment Manager, turned down interest from an Elite League team following talks with DALROD Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov.

Speaking about his return, Callum said, “It’s good to be back again. The job isn’t always glamourous and fun, there’s also the long hours and the dirty jobs that have to be done, but the guys notice and appreciate it, and it makes it all worthwhile.”

“Like everyone in Hockey, I want to work at the highest possible level and had spoken to an Elite League team – I hadn’t heard back from them when Slava spoke to me. I really like working with the guy and we agreed terms. A short while later the Elite team got back in contact however I’d already agreed terms with the DALROD Phantoms so turned them down.”

“I’m looking forward to this season, the team is looking good and I think this year we can do really well. I’d love to see us make the Coventry weekend again as last time, being there on the bench was fantastic, a great experience.”

Peterborough DALROD Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov said of Callum’s return: “I am very pleased to see that Callum is staying with us this season after turning down great deal to join elite league team. Callum is exceptionally good at what he does and showed Loyalty to Phantoms, it would be all most impossible to replace him that late in the summer.”

Callum is not the only member of the Owen Family returning for duty, Sister Rochelle will be back for another season as the team’s physio.

Coach Koulikov said: Rochelle is another very important member of back room staff. Rochelle was fantastic last year, she worked long hours, helped the guys recover in time for games, worked on rehabilitation and preventative treatments to save them from injures. We have a good working relationship and I know these people will not let you down”.
