The DALROD Sponsored Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to announce that Brad Moore, Connor Stokes and James White have been signed as Development Squad Players for the 2015/16 Season.

All three played up from the Phantoms affiliated team the Peterborough Islanders for the 2014/15 season, between them making 54 appearances in all competitions, scoring 3 goals for 7 points.

All three will play on 2 way contracts between the Islanders and the Phantoms, training up to 4 nights a week with both teams while benefiting from the advice and support of the Phantoms off ice fitness and medical teams.

Speaking about the signings, Phantoms head coach Slava Koulikov said: “Brad, Connor and James are all local players, who have come up through the Peterborough junior ranks, and now all main players within the Islanders. It’s great to see that natural progression, and the juniors and Islanders working with the Phantoms Seniors to make the development system work”.

He continued: “All 3 guys played a part in reaching our league position last season, especially January to February when we hit a bad injury period, and at one stage 9 of our first team players were out due to injury. Brad, Connor and James did a great job for us, stepping up into the roles needed.

“They all played in most of the cups games and gain valuable experience. These guys will be on the ice 3 to 4 times a week, and we will be monitoring their progression and hopefully they then can create healthy competition to our main roster.”

Stevie Johnson, Head Coach of the Islanders told us: “Brad has come on leaps and bounds since his return to the club and still has potential to go further. He will always give his all and is not afraid to get stuck in, whether in training or a game. James is another exciting player for the future; he has great speed and will work hard. James will gain confidence and once he gets this he will become a good asset for the Phantoms. Connor is a couple of years older than Brad & James but will always skate hard. He will always give his all and will play for the name on the front of the shirt than the name on the back”.

He continued: “Islanders are so please to have developed the boys into the Phantoms squad and we will let the boys play Phantoms over the Islanders if needed.”

Director of Hockey, Jon Kynaston added: “It is pleasing to see three young players continuing their development with the team. The recent changes that have allowed the total joining up of Junior, NIHL and EPL have, and will continue, to really benefit players like James, Brad and Connor. We can now develop through the juniors, appropriately nurture through the NIHL set up players into senior hockey over a longer stride. I believe this will be extremely valuable to the club and players striving to progress through it. James, Brad and Connor have contributed through the junior system and recently NIHL as they work hard to establish themselves now at the next level of EPL.”

The Development Squad players Own & Loan Shirts, home and away, are available for £100 each.
