The DALROD Sponsored Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to confirm the return of their support team for the 2015/2016 season.
Player Development Coach Lee Elias will be returning for his second season as part of the coaching team. Lee uses his strong communication skills to deliver and bond the team on and off the ice. With a great background in college hockey in the US, Lee’s core duties is to oversee area’s in which players need to strengthen and develop them further.
Rochelle Owen will return as the team’s Sports Injury Therapist. Rochelle is entering her fifth season with the team and is highly regarded by the team for her ability to help return players to health following injury as well as various preventative treatments to keep the players in peak condition.
Returning to keep the players kit in peak condition is Equipment Manager Scott Glenwright. Scott joined the team last season from the EIHL Hull Stingrays as assistant to Callum Owen. After Callum’s retirement at the end of last season and having worked closely with him to learn the trade, Scooter as he is known, was a natural choice for the role.
Head Coach Slava Koulikov commented on his staff “without these guys working hard in the background, the team would not be able to put out the performances they do.
“Lee, undoubtedly made an impact last season in helping us lift the trophy. We communicate constantly over the players progression and development. Lee has a keen eye on the game and will spot personal goals the guys need to strengthen or I need to captivate on”
Slava Continues “Scoots, is such a committed guy, and nothing is too much trouble. Equipment, preparing the room, making sure all the boys have what they need every match night and at training session. It takes a lot of dedicated hours, and some of those running into the earlier hours to get ready for a game the next day after returning home from an away game.
“Rochelle, is someone all the guy call upon on training nights and match nights to tend to the aches and pains, the guys bodies take a bruising every game. Last season Rochelle was kept busy with the mounting injuries and we owe her so much for keeping us going on the ice and getting us back to strength. Without Rochelle the team would not have even reached the Play Off’s and be able to ice with full impact.”
