The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms made it a 4 point weekend with a 5-2 victory on the road in Telford on Sunday night.
It was the home side who took an early lead when Blahs Novak fired the puck into the back of the Phantoms net on 4 minutes. The goal spurred on the home side with Joe Miller and Max Birbraer coming close to doubling the tigers lead.
A bad hit by Birbraer on Phantoms Martins Susters on 7.35 saw the Tigers forward spend the remainder of the period in the penalty box having received a 2+10 for Checking from Behind.
Midway through the period and a scramble in front of Janis Auzins goal saw a number of players hacking away at the puck after Auzins had covered it. From the ensuing Melee Joe Miller and Milan Baranyk both dropped the gloves and were rewarded with 2+2 roughing calls each.
Phantoms leveled the game early in the second period when Milan Baranyk robbed Jason Silverthorn of the puck and coolly fired it past Thomas Murdy on the Tigers goal.
Tigers response came on 29 minutes when a two man breakaway saw Joe Miller feed the puck to Max Birbraer to make it a 2-1 game.
Two goals in a 3 minute spell swung the advantage the Phantoms way. On 36 minutes Phantoms captain James Ferrara drew the visitors level before Darius Pliskauskas gave them the 2-3 lead on 38.56.
The final period was all about the Phantoms as they pushed ahead, leaving the Tigers chasing shadows. An Ales Padelek powerplay goal on 47.40 opened up a 2 goal advantage for the Phantoms.
After a timeout, Tigers Coach Tom Watkins pulled Murdy for th extra skater, but could only watch on in despair as Padelek netted his second of the night with an empty netter on 58.23.
Man of the Match went to Janis Auzins for the Phantoms and Blahs Novak for the Tigers.
