The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms fell to a 6-3 defeat at home on Sunday night to the Telford Tigers.

Following Saturdays defeat in Swindon, the Phantoms were looking to bounce back, but the Tigers had other ideas.

The visitors scored the only goal of the opening period when Estonian international Andrei Makrov picked out Dan Davies who shot low past Janis Auins in the Phantoms goal.

Early penalty trouble for the Tigers at the start of the second period saw the Phantoms the more dominant of the two teams, and Craig Scott fired them level on 23.54.

Tigers response was to find the back of the net 4 times in a 7 minute spell to reclaim their advantage and secure the points. Blahs Novak scored their second on 27.46 before Jason Silverthorn made it 3-1 just 9 seconds later.

Phil Hill claimed his first of the night at the halfway point of the game before Makrov went from provider to scorer on 24 minutes to give the visitors a 5-1 lead.

Darius Pliskauskas made it 5-2 from the next face-off and that’s how it stayed at the second break.

Both teams had their chances in the final period and at 55.21 Phantoms called a timeout. From the restart Auzins was pulled for the extra skater, as coach Slava Koulikov looked to kickstart the team.

Phantoms advantage was increased when Dan Scott was called on a Delay of Game penalty, and Edgars Bebris took advantage to score the Phantoms 3rd goal with 2 minutes of the game remaining.

Try as they may, the Phantoms attack couldn’t get past the Tigers defence and with 21seconds of the game left the Tigers hit the Phantoms on the breakaway and Jason Silverthorn scored the games final goal to make it Phantoms 3-6 Tigers.

Man of the Match went to Edgars Bebris for the Phantoms and Joe Miller for the Tigers
