The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms sponsored by Smart Solutions Group are sadden to learn of the passing of William “Billy” Glover.

Back in 1981 Billy was a part of the opening of the East of England Arena, and has been an integral part of the Ice Rinks running ever since. He was not only the handyman everyone relied on, he was also a part of the off-ice staff for the Pirates and Phantoms for many many years.

Many people old and new knew of Billy as he was always a face you regularly see around Peterborough Ice Rink come rain or shine. Many of you wouldn’t have gotten out of the rink without a tale being told of the years gone by, and the stories of his passion for cycling.

Billy has never fully retired and right up to only a few months ago he was down the rink teaching those young ones the wisdom of his knowledge.

Today we learned of the passing of Billy, and it really is a true Peterborough Hockey legend that we have lost. He will be sorely missed and the Phantoms players past and present, the management team and I am sure all our fans have Billys family in their thoughts and send their condolences on this very sad day.

Bill you will always be in our thoughts.
