The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms, sponsored by Smart Solutions Group are delighted to announce British Forward Nathan Salem to the 2017/18 team.

The 25 year forward from Sunderland, joins us after leaving Hull Pirates at the end of last season. Salem Captained the northern side, scoring a fantastic 26 goals and 30 assist for the mid table side.

Salem has had a great career already gaining experience within the GB under 20’s team and Elite league where he iced for the Newcastle Vipers and Edinburgh Capitals. In more recent times we would have seen Salem in an orange jersey after completing 115 games for the Telford Tigers, before making his move part way through the 2015/16 season to the Pirates.

Head Coach Slava Koulikov was pleased to share his comments on Salem’s Acquisition “I am delighted to have gained Nathan, I have been big fun of his for few years now.

Nathan is a proven goal scorer, who plays with an edge every game and every shift. He is a fast skating, two-way player who has qualities I adore in forwards.

Nathan takes every opportunity to enter the shooting zone, if the opportunity is not there he will make sure he finds it.  With his smart and unselfishness time on the puck he will always makes sure his team mate is in good position and find that passing lane.

Koulikov Continued “He is a true competitor, a guy who puts his body on the line every single game and not afraid to go in to areas where it hurts.

We are looking to build a team that play a great and entertaining style of hockey and compete for trophies. Nathan fits this team and is the right guy to be one of the leaders on Phantoms roster. I am really looking forward to be working with Nathan this season”

Nathan Salem, is excited to be joining the Phantoms and he had this to say to us, when we caught up with him earlier this week “I’m looking forward to be part of the Phantoms and working with everyone in the set up.

I like how professional the organisation is and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the club from people who have played there.

Slava is putting together a strong team for this season and I wanted to be a part of that.”

Salem continues “I compete every night to the best of my ability and I am very much a team player. I know I still have a lot to learn and I look to do better every game. I play my game on the edge and I like to finish all my hits.

I’m looking forward to being coached by Slava which will enable me to improve, also it’s great to be playing with a new bunch of guys. My main aim for the season is to hopefully bring some more trophies back to Peterborough for the team and the fans”

We all welcome Nathan to the team, and looking forward to the season ahead.
