The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms, sponsored by Smart Solutions Group are very proud to announce their commitment to development in Peterborough Ice Hockey.

Next season we have a number of young Peterborough trained players who will be taking to the ice for the Phantoms senior side this season. First to be announced are our netminding pair Jack Peacock and Dan Lane. Jack and Dan will be joining Adam Long in becoming the Phantoms netminding trio.

It’s been recently documented that the quality of British trained netminders are in small numbers, but here in Peterborough we are proud to have developed many locally talented netties. This will continue now and into the future.

Slava Commented on Dan and Jack saying “I am very pleased to announce that Jack Peacock will be with the Phantoms full time this season. He is a young local goalie who is very hungry and ready to make the step up.

Jack has a good relationship with Adam, which is great to have with your regular goalies, and he shows a lot of willingness to learn and commitment when we spoke on the phone.

Jack backed Adam up last year when Janis was out and I am now looking forward to be working with him regularly.”

Slava Continued regarding Dan’s appointment “We all know you can’t win a trophy with-out a good goalie, a goaltender is minimum of 50% of the teams success!

Dan had a fantastic year with Islanders last season, and played a big part in clubs treble winning success.

Dan, is starting a new business adventure, and this will take a lot of his time making this a success. So the balance needs to be right for Dan on and off the ice. He will continue to be part of the new structure that has been set out, where he will be one of the three goalies in Phantoms NIHL1 and number one goalie in Phantoms NIHL 2.

The new set up will help Dan and Phantoms Organisation and I am looking forward to working with him this coming season again!”

Also, returning on a two-way contract with Phantoms NIHL1 and Phantoms NIHL2 are Nathan Long and Callum Medcalf. Last season Callum played 19 games for the senior side whilst still having commitments with Peterborough Under 18’s and Islanders. Nathan, returned to the Phantoms organisation after a number of seasons in Chelmsford and MK to play 17 games for the Phantoms EPL and Islanders. Both players showed that they were capable and prospects for the Phantoms senior side.

Slava also commented on Nathan and Callum’s return saying “Nathan and Callum will be on a two-way contract between Phantoms and Phantoms 2. It’s important at their age to play regularly and practice 3/4 times a week. The aim this season is to develop themselves further and earn a full-time spot on the Phantoms team as soon as possible.”

Lastly, we are pleased to confirm the Phantoms will be giving the opportunity to Phantoms junior players, Jack Escott and Taylor Romeo to participate in the Phantoms Pre-Season Camp. Where they look to impress and maybe earn a full-time position on this year’s roster, we all wish them the best of luck.

Head Coach Koulikov finished his statement commenting “It’s a great to give these young kids the opportunity and for Jack and Taylor we hope to see some good things from them, whilst learning from the established players.

Slava continues “Ross Clarke, Craig Ellis, Brad Bowering and Javis Hunt are very talented 15 year old prospects, that are coming up through the juniors. We have been monitoring them closely for a couple of years now, and can see so much potential. All of them will be practicing with the Phantoms this year and I can see them featuring in some games when they turn 16 later in the season”.
