Streatham Redhawks 0-2 Peterborough Phantoms

Euan King ended an impressive weekend with a shutout as the Peterborough Phantoms sealed a four point weekend against the Streatham Redhawks. With the Basingstoke Bison winning in Cardiff, the Phantoms clinched another important two points to stay level with the Hampshire side.

Will Weldon gave Phantoms the dream start with an unassisted goal inside the first two minutes.

And the lead was doubled when Nathan Salem took a pass from Ales Padelek and made no mistake in beating Matthew Colclough in the Streatham net.

The second period was a more end to end affair, with both sides having chances to get on the scoreboard.

King stood in his head to keep the puck out of the net after a goalmouth scramble, and continued to get in the way of everything Streatham threw at him.

Salem had a chance to increase the Phantoms’ advantage, but his shot was straight at Colcough.

The game continued to be end to end in the third period, and it was quickly becoming a game that only the goaltenders could enjoy. King again pulled off a great save to maintain his shutout.

Colclough followed suit just seconds later with a smart double stop to deny Owen Griffiths Phantoms’ third goal of the game.

Both goalies continued to frustrate the skaters, and Phantoms held on for the points!
