05 Jul

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms, sponsored by Smart Solutions Group are delighted to announce the return of Lithuanian forward Darius Pliskauskas.

Darius is enjoying the summer months after a brilliant end to the 2016/17 season, competing in Belfast, with the Lithuanian Team at the World Championships. Here Darius and his national team gained bronze for the 3rd year running. Whilst away in Lithuania on the Pre- Worlds training camp, the 36 year old forward was also proud to accept the award from the Phantoms Players at the end of the season awards for being their Players Player.

Darius will be returning for his 4th season, and I am sure be wanting to keep up the record of being our top goal scorer.

Head coach Slava, was pleased to comment on Darius’s commitment saying “I am really happy to have Darius back with Phantoms again this year.

I have known Darius for a long time and know exactly what he will bring to the team. He is a smart and creative hockey player, with great hands, an excellent finish and strong on the puck.”

Slava continues “His experience will be vital to us, I will be leaning on him this season for to put the points up on the board, this is a responsibility Darius will no doubt thrive on.”

Darius caught up with us commenting “I’m very happy to be back. I have been playing for the Peterborough DALROD Phantoms for a few years and couldn’t be more excited to come back. I am looking forward to meeting all my team mates new and old and playing against some new teams.”
