Nathan Salem got Phantoms off to the best possible start after just 14 seconds, before Darius Pliskauskas and Padelek made it three after three minutes.

James Ferrara notched Phantoms’ fourth of the evening with a short handed goal, which was followed shortly by Leigh Jamieson’s first, and Phantoms fifth of the night.

Will Weldon added number six, and Tom Norton made it seven before the end of the first period.

Jack Peacock replaced Adam Long in the Phantoms net on the half hour, for his first appearance of the season.

Phantoms added their eighth of the night in the second period, when Jamieson found space to fire Weldon’s assist past Lewis Davies in the Cardiff net.

It took Phantoms five minutes of the third period to score number nine of the night, as Pliskauskas picked up his second of the game.

Cardiff took their chance on the power play to score their first of the night, as Kalle Allner found the back of Peacock’s net.

It wasn’t long before Phantoms found number ten, though, as Padelek scored his second of the evening.

And that was quickly followed by number eleven, as Padelek completed his hat trick.

Salem added Phantoms’ twelfth goal, before James White rounded off the scoring with an unassisted goal.
