MATCH DETAILS

James White took the man of the match award as Phantoms recorded their second home win of the league season. It was a win that took the Phantoms up to second in the NIHL1 South table, ahead of the trip to table toppers MK Thunder.

Phantoms took the lead through Lithuanian forward Darius Pliskauskas, who netted a power play goal 17 seconds before the end of the opening period.

Glenn Billing doubled Phantoms’ advantage early in the second period, tipping an Ed Knaggs blue-liner past Matthew Colclough in the Streatham net.

Brandon Miles halved Phantoms lead around a minute later, however, when his hopeful effort crept under Adam Long.

It wasn’t long before Phantoms regained their two goal lead, when James White batted a rebound home for his second goal of the season.

Robbie Ferrara then found the top corner of Colclough’s net, to give Phantoms a bit more breathing space with six minutes remaining in the second period.

Nathan Salem opened up a four goal advantage for the Phantoms with 11 minutes to go, firing in a ferocious slap shot past Colclough.

Streatham captain Adam Carr beat Long through the five hole to score the visitors’ second of the evening, but it wasn’t enough as the Phantoms ran out comfortable winners.
