The Waldeck Peterborough Phantoms completed a four point weekend by defeating the Bees on Sunday night.

The first period was a very low key affair, with both sides creating few good chances between them.

Tom Norton went closest for Phantoms, whilst the Bees thought they had scored in the middle of the period, but the puck was adjudged to have not crossed the line by referee Adam Hands.

The scoring eventually started just after the mid-way point, when Duncan Speirs dropped a pass back for Connor Glossop to rip the puck through the five hole of Brython Preece - the first goal of his second spell as a Phantom.

And they doubled their advantage just over a minute later, when Luke Ferrara tipped home a Scott Robson blue line effort.

But the Bees hit straight back through their player coach Dominik Gabaj, as he collected an errant pass out of the Phantoms D-Zone, skated in and ripped his effort bar down.

Bees drew level at 36:22 through Brendan Baird, who struck an effort past Tyler De La Bertouche from the right circle.

Brad Bowering went close to sending Phantoms into the second permission with the lead as his shot towards the top corner was batted up in the air by Preece and eventually scrambled off the goal line.

Given the low scoring nature of the first two periods, it felt like the first goal of the third would prove to be the match winner. That’s exactly how it turned out and luckily for Phantoms, it was them who scored it.

Callum Buglass won the puck on the blue line and raced in on a breakaway, he was tripped en route to the goal but still had the composure and technique to tuck his effort through the five hole and into the back of the net - a goal which brought up his 100th point as a member of the Peterborough Phantoms!

Both sides had chances towards the end of the game as Phantoms pinged the goalpost, whilst Bees found De La Bertouche hard to beat.

In the end, Phantoms held on to complete their four point weekend after Saturday night's overtime win against the Telford Tigers.
