The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms have secured a place at the EPL Playoff Finals in Coventry next weekend with victory over the Swindon Wildcats in their Quarter Final tie.
The Phantoms went into Sundays game holding a slim 4-3 advantage after the opening leg in Swindon on Saturday night.
Phantoms took the lead midway through the first period when Luke Ferrara made the most of Slava Koulikovs pass on a Phantoms powerplay.
Wildcats drew level late in the first when a Swindon powerplay saw Jonas Hoog make it 5-4 on aggregate.
A goalless middle period saw the Phantoms soak up the pressure, whilst the Wildcats attacks broke down on the blueline time after time.
A nervy final period saw both sets of fans raise the volume level, as the Phantoms and Wildcats looks for the next goal.
On 51.22 a Marc Levers break down the wing saw Edgars Bebris on the end of his inch perfect pass to fire past GB Netminder Stevie Lyle to give the Phantoms the two goal advantage.
By the time that the Wildcats had Thomas Kana thrown out of the game for his second 10 minute penalty, it was all over and the Phantoms held on to claim a memorable victory and setup a date at the Finals weekend.
Joining the Phantoms at Coventry will be the Telford Tigers, Manchester Phoenix and the Milton Keynes Lightning.
