The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms, who last weekend were crowned the 2015 EPL Playoff Champions, would like to officially confirm that the club will be starting the 2015/16 campaign with new owners.

The Senior Phantoms team has been predominantly run with the assistance of main sponsor DALROD for the last few years and now as the English Premier League is raising its bar on and off the ice, year on year the change is welcomed to keep the team fresh and competitive.

Rob & Sue Housden have worked over the last 14 years to keep Ice hockey in the city, but now they feel it’s time to retire and enjoy the game once again.

Jo and Dave Lane, Directors of DALROD are excited to be at the helm of the new generation of Phantoms hockey in Peterborough.

The Housden’s commented on their retirement “After two years of working towards this day, we are handing over the reins of the Phantoms to our main sponsors Jo & Dave Lane of DALROD.

“The club is in a stable position on and off the ice and we are delighted that we can leave it with Jo & Dave. It is clear from their involvement with the senior team, juniors and their success with the Islanders that they are passionate about keeping ice hockey in our city for many years to come. We will of course be on hand if needed and will enjoy our games now as fans which is how we started.”

Housden_RobBoth Sue and Rob also thanked the Phantoms fans “We’d like to say a big Thank You to all our incomparable fans who have given their support over the years, we have some true and invaluable friends and we thank you for your support , to the all the players and back room staff we have worked with over the years, match night staff past and present thank you for your dedication .

“Lastly we’d like to say Thank You to Jo and Dave for taking over as club owners and for all of your generosity. We sincerely wish you all the very best and look forward to watching your assured success in the years to come.”

The Lanes are also near to completing their first season as owners of Phantoms Farm team the Peterborough DALROD Islanders. This season has seen the Islanders compete for the League, Play off and Cup titles. This has been the best Islanders season in many years.

In addition Dave & Jo are extremely committed to working strongly with the Peterborough Phantoms Junior Academy, keeping the transparency and great communications throughout the entire Peterborough hockey organisation.

The Peterborough Phantoms would also like to take this opportunity to thank Planet Ice for the professional and amicable way in the help of this transition. The Lanes have met and agreed with Planet Ice Management on the way forward in one very easy meeting . We look forward to working with Rink Manager Colin and the Peterborough staff for many years to come.

Although work and preparation is underway for 2015/16 season already, the achievements of this season are still to be relished and enjoyed!!

The future looks bright for the stars of our future and the fans of the Peterborough DALROD Phantoms.
