The DALROD Sponsored Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to announce the return of Peterborough trained dual national Martins Susters for the 2015/2016 season.

Latvian born Susters joined the Phantoms as a junior part way through last season from the Nottingham Leopards and iced for the Phantoms Under 18s aswell as for the Phantoms-affiliated Peterborough Islanders alongside his commitments to the senior team. He finished the season with 5 goals and 10 points for Peterborough teams.

Speaking about signing for the Phantoms full time, Martins said: “I am really thankful that Slava is giving me this opportunity. I am really pleased to be back on the roster for next season.

“Last season was awesome and amazing to be a part of, and hopefully next season we will have the same success or more”.

He continued: “I have been training and practicing hard, and hope next season I will be able to try harder to get some points. I am a team guy and I want to help my team mates out to the best I can. I can’t wait for the season to get started now”.

Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov said: “Martins came in half way through last season and showed great signs of good hockey player. Martins is young and has only played junior hockey up to joining Phantoms so he will take a little time for the transition, but he listens well, and is working hard this summer to get to play regular shift next season”.

Slava continued: “We want players to compete for places next year and earn their ice time. Martins has all the tools, skill, speed, shot and I am looking forward to his development next season”.

Susters’ Own and Loan shirts – home and away – are available for £150 each.

Further signings are due to be announced soon and can be found on, the official Peterborough Phantoms Facebook page, on Twitter – @GoPhantoms or our dedicated YouTube channel OfficialPhanTV.
