The DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms club Captain James Ferrara , defencemen Jason Buckman and recently re-signed Robbie Ferrara, will line up alongside Peterborough born Olympic Medalist Louis Smith as part of the Fitzwilliam Hospital Dragon Boat team, this Saturday 13th June 2015.

The annual Dragon Boat Race is organised in aid of Sue Ryder, supporting the Thorpe Hall Hospice.

The teams will race three heats down the 200 Metre course, the fastest four teams from the three heats will then race in the grand final to be named 2015 Dragon Boat winners.

The format will place great emphasis on strength, timing and fast recovery times, something that should suit the Phantoms players well.

Speaking before the grueling event, James Ferrara told us: “It’s great to be asked to be a part of this event, and to support the hospice and Sue Ryder in all that they do. To us as a team, it’s obviously important that we get the Phantoms brand out as much as possible, especially after our success last season in winning the Championship”.

He continued: “Myself and the guys are more than happy to get together and advertise the great sport in Peterborough. We hope that this is the start of a successful partnership, working alongside the Fitzwilliam Hospital, starting with helping them win our races at the Dragon Boat Festival”

If you would like to cheer on the boys and see Phantoms mascot Tom getting up to mischief, the event takes place at the Peterborough Rowing Lake, Thorpe Meadows in Peterborough. Races begin at 10am and entry is free.
