A strong final 20 minutes saw the Phantoms run out as 5-2 victors against the Bracknell Bees on Saturday evening, to keep the in the top spot of the English Premier League.

The two teams clashed for the second time in 48 hours, and for 40 minutes it was once again a close game.

Early penalty trouble for the Bees in the opening period saw the Phantoms take an advantage when Ales Padelek netted his opener on the powerplay after 7 minutes.

Phantoms were outshooting the Bees by a 3:1 margin, but Alex Mettam in the Bees goal was kept the game to a single goal going into the first break.

As with Thursdays game, the Bees caught the Phantoms napping at the start of the second period. With Phantoms on the penalty kill following an icing infringement penalty late on in the 1st period, Sam Waller pounced to level the game just 57 seconds after the restart.

Phantoms then suffered the loss of Lloyd Gibson, who was given a 5+Game penalty for an accidental high sticks that drew blood. Phantoms held on to see out the 5 minute penalty, and it was a 1 all game going into the final 20 minutes.

The homeside stepped up the pressure on the Bees and took a 2-1 lead on 44.52 when Tom Norton fired home on the powerplay.

Three goals in 4 minutes spell sealed the victory for the Phantoms. Craig Scott scored the Phantoms 3rd of the night, with the games first even handed goal on 49.07. Darius Pliskauskas made it 4-1 on 50.48, before Ales Padelek netted his second of the game on 53.51.

Bees did manage a consolation goal from Tom Beesley on 55.33 but it was too little too late for the visitors.

Man of the Match went to Ivan Antonov for the Bees, and Ales Padelek who finished the game with 2 goals and 1 assist.
