The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are delighted to announce the return of fans favorite Jesse “The Hammer” Hammill.

On Sunday 14th February we will be showing some Valentines love to Jesse, in holding a night dedicated and honouring him.

As an appreciation to Jesse, we are pleased to announce that Jesse will be the first player to be displayed in our Hall of Honour (which will be situated in the stairway leading up to the ice rink bar).

Jesse will be meeting the current team before the game and will be joining old faces within the hospitality box after a presentation will be made on the ice.

After the game we would like to invite you all to the Ice Rink Bar to join him in celebrating his 40th birthday, where he will be available for signings and pictures.

Jesse, was a familiar face to the Pirates and Phantoms fans from 1997, when the Canadian Forward came to the UK.

Hammill departed mid season of 1999 to join the MK Kings. After finishing the season in MK, Jesse headed north to Scotland to pull on his skates for the Paisley Pirates. This is where he met Ainsleigh, his now wife.

After 35 games with the Paisley Pirates the feisty, entertaining Canadian returned to the Orange and White Pirates in Peterborough and remained here through the turbulent years of the Pirates becoming Phantoms in 2002.

Jesse had brief spells away from Phantoms colour’s when he went on loan to the Elite League side Basingstoke Bison and Solihull Barons. Before then embarking on his new career in coaching with the Peterborough Islanders and Romford Raiders.

Hammill’s playing career in Peterborough see him played 304 games as a Pirate/Phantom and is our current leader in the most PIM for Pirates and Phantoms with a whopping 1,305 minutes. He was always known for his entertaining antics and was always up for a ruckus, Rocky Style.

He’s always remained a fans favorite and we are pleased to see him on his return visit to Peterborough from his home in Vancouver .

As the UK holds a special place in Jesse’s heart, after meeting his wife in Scotland and the birth of his 3 children in Peterborough, not to mention numerous memories of what those players use to get up to. So what better way to celebrate his 40th birthday, but amongst friends.

We hope you all join us on Sunday 14th February when the Phantoms take on Sheffield Steeldogs (Face Off 5.30pm), and make this night as special as possible for Jesse!!
