Saturday evening saw the DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms travel to Berkshire to face the Bracknell Bees, a team that had beaten in their 16 previous meetings.

Phantoms dominated the game from the first puck drop and by the first break had already cruised into a 2-0 lead. Darius Pliskauskas scored the opener on 9.55 with a powerplay goal after the Bees had been called for Too Many Men on the ice.

Defender Tom Norton doubled the lead on 12.30 firing home Edgard Bebris’s pinpoint pass.

The middle period saw both teams test each others netminders, but both stood strong to keep it at a 2-0 game after 40 minutes.

The final period saw the Bees hit penalty trouble early on when Scott Spearing was called on a double minor for Interference and Roughing and Milan Baranyk made them pay with another powerplay goal on 49.50 to give the Phantoms a 3-0 lead.

As the clock ran down, the Bees thought they could still get back into the game as they pulled netminder Alex Mettam for the extra skater. However, as they lost possession of the puck, Darius Pliskauskas was on hand to put the puck into the empty Bees goal to make it a 4-0 victory for the Phantoms.

Man of the Match went to Carl Thompson for the Bees and Tom Norton for the Phantoms.
