After defeating the Swindon Wildcats in their last game, the DALROD sponsored Peterborough Phantoms traveled to Wiltshire on Saturday to face them once more, and returned with a further 2 points from a road victory.
Phantoms were missing Edgars Bebris for the game, after his Match penalty the previous game, whilst the Wildcats welcomed back starting netminder Stevie Lyle.
A good opening period saw the Phantoms have the advantage over their hosts and they went ahead after 12.29 when Ales Padelek fired high over Lyles shoulder to make it 1-0.
Despite a number of Powerplay chances for both sides in the opening 20 minutes it looked like being a 1-0 game at the first buzzer until with just 30 seconds of the period left Tomasz Malasinski fired low past Janis Auzins to square the game.
Milan Baranyk gave the Phantoms the lead once more on 24 minutes, but in a penalty heavy game there were no more goals going onto the final stanza.
Two goals in 22 seconds at the start of the 3rd period swung a big advantage towards the Phantoms. First Baranyk netted his second of the game on 42.24 and then on 42.46 Lloyd Gibson fired past Lyle to give the Phantoms a 4-1 lead.
Midway through the final period Jan Kostal pulled a goal back for the Wildcats, but two minutes later Craig Scott scored to re-establish the Phantoms 3 goal advantage and give the visitors the points.
