The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are proud and delighted to announce Peterborough born and trained forward, James White has signed his first Professional full time contract and will be joining the Phantoms for the 2016/17 season.

Starting his senior career in the 2014/15 season with the Phantoms, the young prospect has done the Phantoms Academy and Peterborough DALROD Islanders proud, in gaining his first full time contract with the Phantoms senior team. White has come through the Phantoms Academy, then stepped up to the Islanders and last season became one of the Phantoms prospect players, gaining more training and ice time. With the progression he made over the season, the entire Phantoms organisation can really see the formula working.

With some great statistics for a prospect player, emerging into senior hockey scoring 5 goals and 3 assists for the Phantoms in the 2015/16 season.

Slava Koulikov commented on Whites signing “James had an early injury last season, that put him back a couple of months, but he came back strong and won his place in the line up and did really well and excelling in certain games.

With the direction we are taking this season, James will get regular ice time, which will continue his development into a good British player.”

Slava continues “I want to see healthy competition for places next season, with guys pushing each other and making our team better. I am pleased James will be one of those players, as I believe he has the qualities to do so.”

White commented on his signing to the Phantoms – “Getting a full time spot at the Phantoms is something I’ve wanted for years. As a junior that is your aim to play for your senior team, and after so many years of watching and supporting the club I can now play for them on a full time basis, which is great.

As a team this year, I think it’s going to be successful, Slava has a plan and no one should doubt that. It’s going to be tough with the increase of imports going up to 5, but I feel with the youth and hunger we have , we can still compete at a high level with the higher budget teams, and believe we can win something next year for sure.”

James Continues – “For me personally I’m hoping to bring more to the team in the way of points, and with being with the team full time and potentially more Ice time I feel I can do so, just got to work hard over the summer to get faster and stronger and I’m confident I’ll be able to achieve that.”
