The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms, Sponsored by Smart Solutions Group are delighted to confirm that Owen Griffiths has re signed under a new NIHL contract.

The 20-year-old welsh forward, was announced as returning for the 2017/18 season at last seasons End of Season Awards Evening, where Owen collected 3 honours on the night.  But as the PIHL later that week demised and Phantoms then joined the NIHL South. Meant after all the change in league,  contracts were needed to be re-negotiated and signed.

Head Coach Slava Koulikov commented on Owen’s return “Owen is a good person, great team player that makes smart decisions on and off the ice and does whatever it takes to win.

He’s a competitor at heart who has great speed, good vision and can finish when given the opportunity too!

Owen had a good first year with the Phantoms and I am looking forward to working with him again!”

We also caught up Phantoms 2017 Most Improved Player, Owen Griffiths about his return “I am very pleased to be back and involved with Peterborough once again. I had a great opportunity given to me by Slava, and I’m more than happy to be alongside him and the team once again.

Next year is going to be an interesting and exciting year and I have no doubt we will be successful

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms management would also like to address the situation regarding the 2017/18 season tickets.

As you are all aware of the situation that all the ex EPL and NIHL teams have had sprung upon them, has prevented previous plans to go ahead.  Phantoms had already announced Season Tickets and Phantoms had budgeted based on the PIHL, and the amount of games we are used to playing. It has taken a few months to confirm the league situation, which we are now happy, has been finalised.  I am sure you can all see from the announcement of the league structure, it means that we are a lot lower on the amount of home games that Phantoms and the other EPL teams are use to. With this in mind, teams in the South and North are looking at introducing cup competitions throughout the season, this is to help broaden the competition to national, as well as introducing more home games to those teams wanting to increase fixtures. We are awaiting confirmation that these cup competitions will go ahead, and once this has been received, we will then be in a position to give you the information on what will be included in your season ticket and the cost.

We understand your frustration in wanting to know the costings, but after a disruptive start to the off season we really want to give you the correct and the full information.

As we have not been able to inform you prior to the 1st of June deadline of holding existing season ticket seats, we have now extended this date to 1st August.  We are accepting season ticket applications and payments based on the initial prices released in March. Once we have worked out the cost, we will then refund where necessary.
