The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms sponsored by Evolve Technologies are very proud to introduce ahead of tonight’s first home fixture of the 2018/19 NIHL1 season some very special and amazing people who make our match nights what they are and more importantly possible.

Each and every club from many different sports and levels rely so heavily upon volunteers who love their team through and through. Phantoms are lucky enough to have a team of dedicated individuals who are willing to give their time to the Phantoms and ensuring you our fans have the best experience possible.

From the minute you drive down Mallard Rd you will see the first volunteer who stands out come rain, snow and very rarely sunshine. Andy takes pride of place in coordinating the traffic and helping you to the car parks. After the buzzer has gone, Andy hot foots it into the arena to take his position as steward within the arena, Andy is also a highly qualified first aider and is our medical attendant for the audience on match nights.

We have stewards on each fire point keeping control of the crowds and ensuring everyone is safe. Please make sure you say hi to Andy and the rest of the stewards around the rink –

Janet, John, Stevie, Micheal & Kristian. The stewards are overseen by Roy and his team, who are a qualified professional security company for the Phantoms events.

As many of you may know we have had two members of the media team step down after last season due to other commitments. Its been a hard task to replace these talented people, but we are delighted to welcome you to our new DJ Pete and announcer Ben, who we are confident will do a fantastic job. The duo will be working together on creating an awesome atmosphere and new sound to the Phantoms match nights. Our media outlets don’t run themselves and a team of dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to bring you your Tweets, pictures, live stream, interviews, match reports and videos.

Please say welcome back the PhanTv media team – Matt, Kevin, Alan, Phil, Tom (Twitter) & Tom (Photographer).

Next up is a team of volunteers that if these people didn’t attend, our games couldn’t go ahead. Headed up by longtime Phantoms Supervisor Irene, the Off-Ice Officials are always there, right in the thick of it. Within Irene’s team, you have Aaron, Cliff and Irene down on the bench manning the clock and penalty boxes, Chris updating Fixtures Live and at each end of the ice with their beautiful stripey jerseys, you have Derek and Alan. We also have Toby and Anthony who in previous season helped when regular members of the team are unable to attend.

Depending on the entrance you come through on your arrival depends on whether you see two very lovely ladies awaiting your arrival. Owner Jo and Volunteer Wendy man the Corporate & Season Ticket entrance. Wendy coordinates and processes all the Season tickets each year and ensures all our season ticket holders are happy on arrival to the games, many of you do already but give a wave to Wendy & Jo at tonight’s game.

Barry has worked with the Phantoms for many years and looks after the guests within our boxes. He spends the evening liaising with the guest and often escorting them down to the ice for pictures and presentations. This year Emily, Phantoms Marketing Assistant and Nathan Phantoms Sponsorship Coordinator will be working with Barry in the Hospitality & Corporate areas making sure we give a fantastic all round service to those visiting.

Now to a group of people many of you may already know and say hi to each and every week if you don’t please do. Our club is an expensive club to run, and the funds you help us raise on a weekly basis along with PhanFoce is imperative and crucial to our team. So the dedicated volunteers who sell 50/50, Shirt Off your Back, Chuck a Duck and Raffle, chanting their chants at you, help raise cash for the club, and in the case of 50/50 potentially increasing the prize fund on your winnings.

So please please when you see the sellers, give as much as you can even if it’s only £1 and help us grow and succeed even more and of course don’t forget to say hi to them –  Diane (HockeyDog), Audrey, Debbie, Clare, Jackie, Sarah, Okasna and the PhanForce Committee.

PhanForce are also part of our Match night volunteers, overseeing and running of the 50/50, SOYB, Chuck a Duck and of course ensuring all you fans are apart of our wonderful PhanForce community. If your not a member go and see the guys on match nights and they will tell you all about the benefits and wonderful events they have in store this season.

We can’t forget our beloved pet mascot, HockeyDog. HockeyDog ensures he is fed, watered and ready for action each and every week, entertaining the children and the adults. Well done HockeyDog, you will receive an extra large bone.

On match nights you will always see around the arena owners Dave and Jo, who are always there to say hi as well as Marketing Manager Carrie.

The Phantoms organisation would like to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers, we wish you all luck as we head into the new season.
