The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are delighted to announce Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov has extended his contract for a further two years.

Slava, has a year remaining on his existing contract, extending his commitment to the Phantoms organisation to a total of three years. Since Christmas of 2013, when Slava joined the Phantoms as a Player/Coach, the plan was always to build a competitive team and develop our youth academy. Without question, Slava and his team have delivered and exceeded expectations over the last 6 years.

As the league is developing and the expectations increasing, within the league for the coming season it has meant Slava has taken on extra responsibilities away from the ice. His role as Head Coach has not changed and Slava will still be committed to continue the vision of competing to the highest level in Peterborough and chase silverware. But adjacent to this, Slava will also be turning his attentions to off-ice activities with Slava’s new title now becoming Hockey Operations Manager.

Slava commented on his contract extension and new responsibilities saying; “Over the past 6 years the team has gone from strength to strength, with every year the team progressing in success on and off the ice.

I’ve always wanted to work with a club with stability and always have the chance to compete, the Phantoms have delivered this, and with future aims to get even better. I have built a great relationship with Dave and Jo Lane, the owners of the Phantoms, so it made the decision to commit to the organisation for an additional two years an easy one.

My family are settled here in Peterborough and that is very important to me, so along with the opportunities to be involved off-ice within my new role, its really exciting times ahead.

Recently, I stepped away from my role as GB u20’s coach, to concentrate on my team. The league is increasing in professionalism and the level of hockey is higher and I want to ensure we have every chance to compete hard every game.”

Owners Dave and Jo Lane also commented; “We are extremely pleased with Slava’s progression over the last 6 years, Slava has been the most consistent coach the Phantoms has had and we look forward to a bright future for hockey in Peterborough.”

I am sure all you Phantoms fans will join us in congratulating Slava on his additional role and his extension to his contract with the Phantoms.
