The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to confirm the return of goalie, Will Bray, for the 2026/27 season.
The 22-year-old goalie spent his early junior days between his hometown of Nottingham, and Peterborough, where he played for the Phantoms U15’s.
He then moved onto the Coventry Blaze, where he continued his junior development, before his first steps into senior hockey with the Solihull Barons.
He’s been part of the Coventry Blaze EIHL set up since 2020, aside from a short spell with IK Kronan in Finland in 2021/22. He joined the Phantoms in February and made his debut in the final five minutes of Phantoms’ 8-3 win over the Bristol Pitbulls 20 days later.
His first start came in a 5-3 win over Swindon and he made a further league appearance in a defeat in Leeds towards the end of March. He played the final two games of the playoffs, both against the Swindon Wildcats, and pleased fans with his performances between the pipes.
Will said: “Excited to be back and put down a long term deal. It was a fun few months at the end of last season. Hope we can have success as a group going forward.”
Whilst Phantoms’ Head Coach, Ash Tait, said: “It’s good to have Will back. It’s never easy to come into a team part way through the season but I think he gave a good account of himself on limited opportunities. We’ll be looking for him to improve on that again this year.”
Welcome back, #40 Will Bray!
