The SLS Peterborough Phantoms are thrilled to announce that captain and all-time leading scorer Luke Ferrara has been awarded with a testimonial game for his outstanding and ongoing commitment and service to the club.
Luke began his career within the junior setup at the club and quickly progressed through the age groups and into the senior side.
The Great Britain International forward was part of the 2014/15 EPL Playoff winning side in the final season of his first spell with the Phantoms.
Since then, he’s iced for the Sheffield Steelers, Coventry Blaze, Bordeaux, Cracovia Krakow and the Nottingham Panthers and built an esteemed career for himself, which saw him win the EIHL, take a place in the 19/20 EIHL All-Star Team as the EIHL’s Top Scorer, collect a silver medal in Poland, and form part of the Great Britain 2017/18 World Championship D1A Gold Medal winning side.
His return to Peterborough was deemed a huge coup when he rejoined the Phantoms ahead of the 2023/24 season and he instantly became one of the key components of the team. 106 points in 54 regular season games set his side on its way to the NIHL National Playoffs - where Luke scored the winning penalty shot in the Grand Finale against Leeds.
He’s now the SLS Peterborough Phantoms’ All-Time leading goal and points scorer - totals he’ll undoubtedly add to after signing a three year extension during last season.
And now, he’s been awarded with a testimonial game for his contribution to the club, recognising his years of commitment, leadership, goals and points.
“I am honoured to have been awarded a testimonial by the club. This club means so much to me and I never thought I’d be in this position when I was growing up watching the Phantoms play.
Going to put everything into this season and then hopefully celebrate with a testimonial at the end of it!” Luke said.
