Everyone at the Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms would like to wish Nathan Salem a speedy recovery, as he undergoes surgery which is likely to keep him out for a sizeable portion of the upcoming 2025/26 season.
The 33-year-old forward is in his third spell as a Phantom, having initially played for the club in 2017/18 and returning mid-way through the 2021/22 season.
He enjoyed an excellent season last term, notching 54 points in 51 games and impressing fans with his energetic and passionate performances, in addition to his regular point scoring.
Salem had re-signed with the Phantoms ahead of 2025/26, but is now set for a spell on the sidelines as he prepares to undergo surgery in the opening months of the season. His recovery and rehabilitation is likely to continue into 2026.
Phantoms Head Coach, Ashley Tait, said "Nathan was one of the stand out players of last years play offs and the news is obviously not ideal. However, as soon as Nathan confirmed that an operation was needed we’ve factored this in our latest recruitment plans."
Nathan had the following message for the Phantoms fans "I’m obviously disappointed with the situation as I was looking forward to building on what the team did last season but unfortunately without this surgery I won’t be able to play. I am going to do my best to be back on the ice as soon as I can."
Everyone at the Club would like to wish Nathan all the best, we'll be with you through every step of the recovery!
Anyone who has sponsored Nathan on the Kit Sponsorship grid will be contacted this week to arrange to transfer their sponsorship to another player.
