The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to welcome Slovakian forward, Dominik Gabaj, from the Milton Keynes Lightning!

Gabaj has become a familiar name in the NIHL National in recent years, consistently leading his teams in points during spells with the Bees and MKL. The 33-year-old has notched over 500 points during his time in England to date and will be looking to bring his offensive prowess to Planet Ice Peterborough.

He began his career in Slovakia at Slovan Bratislava, where he played up to U20 level, before heading Stateside for five years - repressing the Idaho Jr. Steelheads, Monroe Community College and Nazareth College.

Gabaj then arrived in France, playing for Tours in 2017/18, before a year with Phantoms’ 2025/26 pre-season opponents Neuilly-sur-Marne the following year.

He’s gone on to play for the Newcastle Northstars (New Zealand), Brest, Meudon and Caen in France, but has spent the last five years in England.

Dom led MKL in points last season, with 31 goals and 58 assists for 89 points in 54 games and will now reunite with Phantoms’ Head Coach, Ashley Tait, after the pair worked together with the Berkshire Bees in 2024/25.

Gabaj said the following on his signing with Phantoms: “Peterborough has always been a tough place to come as an away player, so I’m really excited to now be on the home side. I’m also looking forward to working again with Ash, and I can’t wait to get started, meet the fans, and do everything I can to help the team succeed.”

And Coach Tait said: “I know Dom well and I know he’ll be a great asset to us this year. He plays all situations and contributes at both ends of the ice. I’m excited to be working with him again.”

Welcome to Phantoms, #83 Dominik Gabaj!
