The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to announce the return of forward Louie Kynaston, on improved terms, after an impressive 2024/25 season.

The 18-year-old local lad has spent his entire career to date within the Phantoms organisation, having progressed through the junior ranks at Planet Ice Peterborough.

He impressed his coaches throughout his junior days, consistently putting up impressive numbers, even when playing up age groups against players older than himself.

He first featured for the Phantoms senior side in 2023/24, whilst also icing for Phantoms NIHL2 and adding a further game for the Romford Buccaneers in the NIHL1.

Last season was an important one for Louie, though, as he enjoyed regular opportunities to play up the Phantoms lineup, and delivered fourteen points in 53 games amidst a season packed full of extremely promising performances.

Towards the end of the season, he was named in the Great Britain U18’s team for their World Championships in Italy. The young forward posted three points in five games as GB returned to home soil with a silver medal.

His performances in Phantoms colours, paired with his Great Britain exploits earned him improved terms with the Phantoms for 2025/26,, having already previously agreed to return for the new campaign.

Louie said the following on his re-signing: “It was an easy decision to come back for next season. Coming up through the juniors, you dream about playing for the Phantoms and doing it every week is an honour. I’m already looking forward to the season ahead and building on from last year. See you all in September!”
