The SLS Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to confirm the return of young Scottish forward, Flynn Massie, for the 2026/27 season.
The 18-year-old from Kilmarnock began his hockey career in Scotland, with the North Ayrshire Predators, Devils and Wild, before his first steps into senior hockey with North Ayrshire Wild and the Widnes Wild in 2023/24.
He played 26 times for Löwen Frankfurt U20’s in the German youth system and also iced for Widnes Wild U18, Solway Sharks U19 and Widnes Wild in that season.
12 points in 13 2024/25 games for the Wild in NIHL1 North brought some attention to his potential, and that’s when the Phantoms came calling.
Ahead of 2025/26, Massie signed with the Phantoms on a two-way with the Wild, enabling him to step into the NIHL National for the first time when time allowed.
He scored 23 goals and 17 assists for 40 points in 36 games with the Wild last term and picked up his first Phantoms point within his 11 games played.
And now he’s back at Planet Ice Peterborough to continue his progression with the SLS Peterborough Phantoms!
“I’m super excited to be back in Peterborough for the upcoming season. I feel I developed my game as a player last year and i’m keen to get going again to help the team this season. And Head Coach, Ashley Tait, said: “I think Flynn will really benefit from being with us more frequently. His ice grew towards the end of last year and he got some special teams time which we really want to develop on.”
