Five unanswered goals saw the Leeds Knights turn around an early deficit and collect both points against your Wendy's Peterborough Phantoms in the final game of the regular season.

Will Bray made his second start of the season, making some impressive saves to dull some early pressure from the Knights.

With Danny Harrison in the box, after his team were awarded a bench minor for too many men, at 06:06, the Phantoms were on an early powerplay.

It only took a few seconds for the visitors to take advantage, with Hough winning the faceoff and Ferrara finding Laakkonen to rocket home at 06:11.

The home side answered quickly, however, with Fin Bradon converting a smart pass from the young Frankie O'Sullivan at 07:15 to level the score at 1-1.

A go-ahead goal came soon after the Knights' equaliser - with Liam Peyton's driven effort kicked clear, but tapped home on the rebound by Balint Pakozdi at the back post at 08:27.

A couple of breakaways were denied by Bray and Dan Norton, with Owen Sobchak and Cam Hough going close for their respective sides to close out the period.

An early penalty for Ralfs Circenis saw him head to the box for tripping at 23:11.

Despite a near-immediate breakaway opportunity for Luke Ferrara, it was the home side who struck next.

A wraparound effort from Pakozdi fell to Danny Harrison to fire past Bray on the powerplay at 25:03 for 3-1.

Bailey Perre was the next man to the box, sitting for hooking at 28:43.

With a Ferrara-led odd-man rush being the only chance of note, the Knights returned to full strength.

Owen Sobchak put the Phantoms back on the powerplay at 35:54, sitting for a high stick.

Dan Norton stood tall against the Phantoms' powerplay efforts, with his side - again - returning to full strength.

It was a grittier period from the home side, with a handful of heavy hits going unpunished early on.

A turnover from a Phantoms defenceman led to a fourth goal for the Knights - with Sobchak converting at 47:55.

A slightly overzealous hit on Laakkonen in the dying moments of the game saw a flare-up of the final frame's building tension.

Both Cam Hough and Scott Robson stepped in to defend Laakkonen, with the officials struggling to separate the group.

With no gloves dropped, both Robson and Pakozdi were sent to the box for roughing, with Hough sitting for a crosscheck and Sam Cooper for interference, with no powerplay for either side.

A late goal for Fin Bradon capped off a win for the home side, rounding off the NIHL National League regular season for your Wendy's Peterborough Phantoms.
