It was the Romford Raiders who claimed both points in a Wednesday night game at Planet Ice Peterborough.
It was another patched up Phantoms side for this encounter, with Nic Martin, Louie Kynaston, Scott Robson, Flynn Massie, Brad Bowering, Zaine McKenzie, Ryan Bainborough, Callum Buglass, Nathan Salem and Jasper Foster all absent.
Phantoms did welcome youngsters AJ Herring, Alex Rushby, Preston Tombs and Liam Oughton-Shaw to their lineup, however, to provide some much needed depth to a depleted team.
And Phantoms started well, going close when Morgan Clarke-Pizzo raced through and ripped a shot on net, which was spilled by Cole Ceci, but cleared by his defenceman.
Phantoms continued to threaten and after Cam Hough went close, it was Dillon Lawrence who put the home side ahead with a back door tap in from a Ralfs Circenis assist.
But the Raiders hit back a couple of minutes later when Adam Laishram played a cross crease pass to the tape of Jake Sylvester, who one timed his effort beyond Hayden Lavigne.
And the visitors took a lead into the first intermission when Tjay Anderson scored on a wraparound in the final minute of the opening frame.
The Romford lead was doubled with 6:22 played in the middle period, when Brandon Ayliffe played a pass into the path of Jarrett Baker, who pinched into the play and ripped a good shot into the top corner.
But Phantoms kept working and went close when Billy Thorpe tested the resolve of Ceci with a slap shot from the right circle - well saved.
They upped the intensity moments later, though, and were rewarded for their efforts. Cam Hough with the final touch on a play involving Circenis and Clarke-Pizzo to put Phantoms back within one.
But unfortunately, that was as good as it got. The Raiders regained their two goal advantage just under four minutes later when Anderson rifled home his second of the evening at 34:17.
Phantoms continued to create openings, with Lawrence and Corey McEwen seeing efforts saved, whilst Sylvester was denied his second of the night by a good stop from Lavigne.
The third period was a fairly low key affair, with neither side creating any grade A chances.
The scoring was concluded in the final minute when Brandon Ayliffe broke out of the Raiders’ defensive zone and fired into the empty net, with Phantoms having opted to pull the goalie for the extra skater.
