A third period fightback saw the Wendy's Peterborough Phantoms kickstart their weekend with a win.
Phantoms had to juggle their lines once again with Nic martin, Scott Robson, Flynn Massie, Morgan Clarke-Pizzo, AJ Herring, Alex Rushby, Preston Tombs, Luke Clark, Corey McEwen and Nathan Salem all absent for varying reasons, but Zaine McKenzie and Connor Glossop did take places in the line up.
The first period saw Phantoms struggle to really get going, with the home side having the better of the chances for the duration.
Jarrett Baker had the game's first good chance when he gained the zone and fired from the left circle, but after Lavigne made the save, Andrew Coxhead diverted the rebound wide of the far post. Lavigne was back in action shortly after, making a big stop with Coxhead in close attendance, on an initial effort from Adam Laishram.
Phantoms were afforded a chance when Austin Osborn's pass to the blue line left Jack Cooper with no chance and Barni Sari won the race to the loose puck, but his shot was high and wide.
Coxhead, Max Lewis, Jake Sylvester and Baker all went close for the Raiders, while Cam Hough tested Cole Ceci's resolve, but the period ended goalless.
The second period followed a similar patter, with the home side having most of the good scoring chances, and they went close early when a blue line shot squirmed through Lavigne, but the Phantoms goalie got back in the nick of time to dive on the loose puck.
Mikey Power, Ewan Hill and Elliot Dewey all saw efforts saved, before Luke Ferrara forced Ceci into a smart stop with a shot from the right circle.
Raiders took the lead when Callum Buglass turned the puck over in his own zone, allowing Adam Laishram to get in close, pull the move and tap home.
And they doubled their advantage in the closing moments of the second period when Hill tipped a Sylvester shot onto the back of Lavigne, and it bounced unfortunately into the back of the net.
But if the first two periods belonged to Romford, the third belonged to the resurgent Phantoms, who reduced the arrears early in the third though Cam Hough, who benefitted from some smooth skating from Brad Bowering through the right circle to convert the chance.
Then, with Mikey Power sitting a tripping penalty and a sustained spell of Phantoms pressure, Dillon Lawrence levelled the game at 47:17 when he found space to the right of goal and squeezed his shot in at the near post.
Phantoms took the lead when Barni Sari swept a shot on goal, which was kicked out as far as Louie Kynaston, who converted well from close range despite some heavy attention from the Raiders' defence.
And the icing was applied to a brilliant third period cake by Ralfs Circenis who, with Ceci at the bench, won a race to a loose puck up ice to send it into the empty net and ensure both points would be returning to Peterborough.
