The SLS Peterborough Phantoms are excited to confirm our off-ice team for the 2026/27 season.
First up is Equipment Manager Kristian Kenny. KK has been with the team for the last eight years and is going into his ninth season with the club.
“I’m excited to be back for my 9th season with the team helping the guys so they can perform on the ice and hopefully bring some silverware back to paradise.”
Next is Deputy Equipment Manager, Barry Owen. Another recognisable face to the Phantoms organisation - Barry has also committed many years to helping the club in various ways, and will be continuing to do so as our Deputy Equipment Manager.
“It’s good to be back. I am looking forward to the seeing the lads again, feeling positive for a really good season.”
Ben Pateman increased his responsibilities with the club during last season. Everyone will know Ben for being our rink announcer, but he’s also joined our equipment team, assisting Barry and the team on our away games.
“I was lucky to join the team behind the team in our double header away to Solway last year, and have enjoyed every bit since. So I am looking forward to doing it all over again this season with a great bunch of people.”
A new addition to our team is Jake Keniston, who takes on the role of Physio for the 2026/27 season. Jake comes from a rugby background and has worked with teams from around the world.
He’s been watching the Phantoms since a young age and was one of many who used to enjoy a Friday evening skating session at Planet Ice Peterborough! Last season, he was the Physio for the Phantoms NIHL2 side and steps up to the senior Phantoms side this season.
“My role this season is to keep the lads injury free while also getting them back to performing at the highest level they can after injury taking control of their rehabilitation and injury management within my own clinic.”
“Carrying on from last season I can’t wait to get stuck in and help do my bit to keep the boys operating and top performance the team looks very strong and I’m buzzing to see what we can achieve, it’s always a great atmosphere down the rink so be nice to be amongst it, not just watching! 🤟”
Finally, we welcome back Brian Bell as a team First Aider once again this season. Brian goes into his second full season with the team, further bolstering our first aid capabilities.
“Bring on the new season! I am so happy to be part of the off ice team again for a second year as a medic. Always great to work with a such a talented and experienced team.”
