The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to announce the re-signing of Richard Hartmann for the 2025/26 season.

The 19-year-old forward joined the Phantoms in January and quickly became a favourite amongst the fans for his speed, directness and willingness to put his body on the line for the team.

He stepped up the lineup towards the end of the 2024/25 season, allowing him to gain invaluable minutes alongside the likes of Cam Hough and Luke Ferrara.

Hartmann is a dual national, having split his junior career between Slovakia and Scotland.

He began this season back in Slovakia, with HK Skalica in the Slovakian U20 league, notching 21 points in 14 games.

His breakout year in senior hockey was in 2022/23, where he notched 12 goals and ten assists in 25 games with the Dundee Comets in the Scottish National League.

He followed that up in 2023/24 with a further 18 goals and 17 assists in 21 games for the Comets, leading his team in points in 2023/24.

And after a short stay in Milton Keynes, Hartmann penned a deal with the Phantoms and now returns to the club for 2025/26.

Hartmann said the following on his return: “I am really exited to be back for another year in Phantoms colours. I joined late last season, but this season I’m ready to show what I’ve got and bring a trophy back to Peterborough. I can’t wait to play in front of all our amazing fans again!”

And Phantoms Head Coach, Ashley Tait, said: “I’m looking forward to working with Richard. From what I’ve seen he plays with a lot of jump, is keen to learn and has all the tools that are going to contribute to our success.”
