Last week, the Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms were delighted to be presented with a Civic Award for Sport by Peterborough City Council.

The Club received the award for raising the profile of Peterborough through Ice Hockey, developing local talent to play at local, national and Great Britain levels.

The award was for the senior side, women’s team, junior teams and the para hockey team - all of which have enjoyed success on the ice and developed talented players across the board.

Our thanks go to local Councillor and Phantoms fan, Nicola Day, and Phantoms fan Paul Young, for nominating us for this award.

We’ve made great strides in the past year both on and off the ice, developing players, enjoying success, increasing in-rink attendance and social media engagement and to receive recognition of that work means a lot to everyone at the Club from top to bottom.

Work continues now for the 2026/27 season and our Para Hockey Team begin their campaign on 30th May, with their first home game against the Cardiff Huskies on 12th July. We’d like to wish them the best of luck for their new season!
