The SLS Peterborough Phantoms are happy to announce the signing of forward Nathan Pollard for the 2026/27 season.

The 33-year-old is another who needs no introduction to the Phantoms fans, having represented the club 394 times in a career which has spanned over 15 years so far. He currently sits eighth in Phantoms’ all-time appearance maker list.

For the past three seasons, he’s been at the helm of the Peterborough Phantoms NIHL2 side as Player Coach - in a time which saw them win a quadruple of trophies in 2024/25. He was a big contributor to the teams’ success on the ice, too, racking up 174 points in just 62 games.

Alongside his NIHL2 Player-Coach duties, he was the Assistant Coach to Ashley Tait last season. In that time, he also appeared for the Phantoms amidst the teams’ injury issues, notching a goal against the Swindon Wildcats amongst his four 2025/26 appearances.

A popular figure amongst Phantoms fans, Polly has now stepped back from his coaching role with the Phantoms NIHL2 side and will be returning to the Phantoms’ line up for 2026/27! Alongside his playing duties, he'll also continue his role as Assistant Coach to Ashley Tait.

Polly said the following on his return: "I'm really pleased to be back with the Phantoms full-time. The last three years with Phantoms 2 have been a brilliant experience and have helped me grow as both a player and a coach. I still feel I can compete at this level, and this gives me the opportunity to keep developing in both roles. We've built a really competitive squad and I'm looking forward to doing everything I can to help us compete for every trophy this season."

Meanwhile, Head Coach Ashley Tait, said: "Having Polly as a player full time is really going to help. I think he contributed a lot in the few games he played last year and to have his experience is going to really help with getting some of the younger guys valuable Ice time. His coaches role and our relationship will continue to develop. I felt we worked well together and I’m excited to build on that."

Welcome back #12 Nathan Pollard!
