The Waldeck Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to announce the signing of Archie Salisbury from a prospect to a senior contract!
The 16-year-old defenceman has impressed Head Coach Slava Koulikov early on in the 2022/23 season and has signed a senior contract with the club.
Salisbury played the entirety of his junior career in Peterborough and captained his teams in spells at U15 and U16 level.
This season, Archie is on a two-way with the Phantoms and the Chelmsford Chieftains. A deal he’ll remain on, whilst his new contract also allows a potential increase in minutes for Slava’s Phantoms team.
Despite his young age, Archie has already gained himself a reputation for being a strong, two-way defenceman, who plays with physicality and can also contribute to the scoring charts. He’s notched one goal and one assist across seven senior Phantoms appearances so far this term.
Head Coach Slava Koulikov commented “We have been working with Arch over the last 1.5 years, we are really happy with his progress and see Arch as big part of our D core going forward. Arch has all the tools and most importantly the right attitude, on and off the ice, to become top D in the country and achieve his goals!”
Salisbury said the following upon signing his first senior contract: “It’s was a nice surprise to be asked to sign a full contract with the club. I want to thank Slava and all of the guys on the team for the support and belief they have showed in me this season, I am looking forward to playing more games with the lads.”
Archie’s equipment is available to sponsor from as little as £10! For more information or to secure your sponsorship of his equipment, head to the Phantoms online store HERE!
Congratulations and welcome to Phantoms on your first senior contract, #4 Archie Salisbury!
