The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are happy to announce the re-signing of forward Barnabas Sari for the 2026/27 season.

The Hungary born, British trained 20-year-old began his junior career in Coventry and Sheffield, before heading out to Hungary to continue his development with the Fehervar Hockey Academy.

The former Hungary U17 and U18 International first joined the Phantoms ahead of the 2024/25 season and recently surpassed 100 games for the club.

He played up and down the Phantoms line up in 2025/26, benefitting from increased ice time and exposure to more important game situations - all things that can only help his development as a hockey player.

And now he’s back for season three in Peterborough!

“I am delighted to be back, it was a very easy decision to make. I feel like I had a strong end to the season and I’m keen to work hard to build on that going into next year. I can’t wait to get started again and I truly believe this team has what it takes to compete for silverware. Thank you to the fans for all your support, see you all in September!” Barni said.

Whilst Head Coach, Ash Tait, said: “This is a potential break out year for Barni. He made huge strides forward from mid way through last season and the hope is that he continues that upward trend and take the next step with his offensive contribution.”

Welcome back, Barni!
