The Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms are pleased to announce the return of 18-year-old defenceman, Nojus Venskutonis.
The Lithuanian born, dual national defenceman played junior up in Scotland with the Dundee Stars and had a brief stint with the Dundee Comets in 2022/23.
He then moved onto Finland, where he played for KPK U20 22 times, whilst also representing their senior side on three occasions.
He returned to Britain ahead of the 2024/25 season when he signed with the Phantoms, and went on to play 49 regular season games, notching three points.
As the season wore on, Nojus was given the chance to step up the lines and increase his ice time, which would have been invaluable for his continued development.
And Venskutonis now returns for his second season as a Phantom, penning an extension to become the latest name on Ashley Tait’s 2025/26 roster.
Nojus said the following on his return: “I am very thrilled to be back for another year wearing Phantoms colours. Last season was a learning process for me, for this season I am ready to show what I picked up and learned from experienced players in our team. We came a little short in Coventry last year, so I am 100% sure that we will earn our place again and bring the trophy to where it belongs.
See you really soon Phantoms fans!!” Nojus concluded.
Whilst Phantoms’ Head Coach, Ashley Tait, said: “Nojus started to develop as last season progressed so I hope to keep on the same trajectory as he’s someone I want to give more ice and responsibility.”
