Another weekend has arrived and it’s the Hull Seahawks and Telford Tigers providing the opposition for your Wendy’s Peterborough Phantoms
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
The Hull Seahawks had one of the calmer summers of NIHL National teams, with the bulk of their team returning for another year.
They’ve picked up three points from their opening five games, but come into the matchup with Phantoms full of confidence after defeating the Solway Sharks 9-2 last Sunday.
The Telford Tigers have continued the good form they showed prior to their 5-4 shootout loss to the Phantoms on September 27th, having beaten the Basingstoke Bison and Bristol Pitbulls since that time. They sit second in the table, one point ahead of the Phantoms.
TEAM NEWS
Phantoms have no new major team news to report. Nathan Salem is a long term absentee, whilst Brad Bowering will miss the next two weekends through suspension.
The Hull Seahawks were without Kris Fugalis last weekend through injury, but did welcome back Jordan Stallard and Jamie Chilcott. Alex Kent, Theo Malone and Josh Crawley also didn’t feature for the Seahawks, as they iced elsewhere on two-ways.
The Telford Tigers are expected to ice a similar team to the one which lost in overtime to Phantoms two weeks ago. But they will be without Ross Connolly, who was released by the Tigers.
ONE TO WATCH
Seahawks’ top line of Bobby Chamberlain, Owen Sobchak and Emil Švec are always a danger to any side. But Chamberlain leads the way in terms of scoring for Hull so far this season and will be one to watch, as always, on Saturday night.
Tigers’ David Thomson leads the scoring for his side so far this term and will be one to watch for Tom Watkins’ team.
COACHES CORNER
“We need to show the application we had on Sunday across both games this weekend. We know we’re playing a team that is offensively very talented on Saturday and Telford is always a tough rink to get points from.” - Ashley Tait
