The Waldeck Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to confirm the Off-Ice Team ahead of the 23/24 season!

We are thrilled to welcome some new faces along with welcoming back our core off-ice team! With Rochelle Owen departing as Team Physio at the end of last season, we are pleased to announce our new Team Physio, Joshua Aves! The off-ice team has also expanded with a new equipment assistant in Anthony Pountney, who will be splitting his time between Phantoms and the Coventry Blaze come September

Joshua Aves - Team Physio
We would like to welcome Joshua as our new physio for the 23/24 season! Josh has recently graduated Lincoln University with an Upper Second Class Honours in Sports and Exercise Science and has worked with Boston United and Lincoln City Academy as a sports science intern. As our new physio, Josh will be dealing with injuries during games, whilst also providing therapy and treatment to players during the week at training sessions. We are delighted to have Josh joining the team, and we would love for you all to join us in welcoming him to the Phantoms family.

Josh had the following to say: “Over the moon to join a massively successful Ice Hockey Team. Can’t wait to get started and keep the boys fit and healthy so they can do their thing on the ice!”

Kristian Kenny - Equipment Manager
Kristian will be re-joining the off-ice team as the equipment manager for the 23/24 season! KK is one of the individuals that works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the team can perform at its best week in week out.

Kristian Kenny had the following to say: “I am excited to be back! I’m ready to help the boys with everything they need to perform on the ice.”

Barry Owen - Equipment Assistant
Barry is not a stranger to Peterborough hockey, having worked 22 years within our hospitality boxes and looking after our sponsors on a match night. Barry will now be joining the off-ice team full time for the 23/24 season as an equipment assistant, traveling to all away games in order to support the team.

Barry Owen had the following to say: “After 22 years working in the VIP boxes looking after match night sponsors and team sponsors, it was great to be able to work with the team last season especially on away games. I’m really looking forward to getting started this season!”

Anthony Pountney - Equipment Assistant
Anthony will be joining us for the 23/24 season on a two-way with Coventry Blaze as an equipment assistant! We would like to thank Coventry for allowing us to bring Anthony on part-time as an on the road equipment assistant!

Anthony Pounteny has the following to say: “I’m looking forward to getting to Peterborough and meeting the rest of the guys and helping out with all equipment problems where possible to keep the players on the ice in them key moments.”

Paul Coupland - Team Medic
Paul joined the off-ice team at the start of last season and quickly made his mark on the team! Paul assists the team on match nights along with our on bench physio, who both ensure the team are fit and ready to play!

Paul Coupland had the following to say: “Last year was my first season as team medic, I’m really honoured to have been asked to return for the 23/24 season and really excited to be part of the off-ice team once more. It’s been a long off season, so looking forward to hockey starting again.”
