With just 83 days until the start of the 2022/23 Planet Ice NIHL National League, the Peterborough Phantoms have today announced that they will open their 2022/23 season with two challenge games against the Raiders IHC.

The two teams will go head to head on Saturday 3rd September in Peterborough, before the Phantoms travel to the Raiders on Sunday 4th September. Face off times for both games are still to be confirmed.

Last season the Raiders narrowly missed out on making it to the Play-Offs despite some impressive results including a 6-3 win against Swindon, 6-4 agaianst Telford, 5-0 against Sheffield and a 9-1 win against the Phantoms.

Speaking about the games, Phantoms Head Coach Slava Koulikov said “London are a tough team to play and Sean (Easton) is building a strong team for the new season after missing out on the play-offs last year.

“Our team building for the new season is nearly complete, and this will be a good opportunity for us to dust off the Summer cobwebs and start the new campaign with some strong challenges. The pre-season games will allow us to finish our preparation ready for the new league starting on the 17th September.”
