The Waldeck Peterborough Phantoms are thrilled to have re-signed Scottish Forward Duncan Speirs for the 23/24 season.

A former GB U20 International, Speirs brings good experience to the Phantoms roster despite still only being 25, having played in the NIHL1 with Solway, and the Sheffield Steeldogs, and in the Elite League with the Edinburgh Capitals and Dundee Stars.

Duncan has posted up 124 points from 100 games with the Phantoms over 2 seasons! Which makes him one of our highest point scorers for the last 2 seasons.

Duncan commented on his return, saying: “I’m really happy to be signing back in Peterborough this year! Winning the Cup last season was the highlight for me and hopefully we can win even more silverware next season.”

“I hope everyone has a great summer, and I’m looking forward to hearing the fans loud and proud again in Paradise.”

Head Coach, Slava Koulikov commented: “We have great leadership group in senior players, and Duncs is one of those members. He is, as you would say, a ‘quiet leader’ who lead by example on the ice every practice and every game.”

“Duncs played a big part in our Cup success, he is a big game player who does all the small details right and thrives in big games.”

“Braveheart is the only word you can use to describe Duncs, playing through with 2 different fractures in the cup semi-final and final games. There are moments that stay with you for the rest of your life and what Duncs did for this club in the 2nd leg of the final will never be forgotten.”

“It is now time for Duncs to fully recover, enjoy the Scottish summer at home with your family and we are all looking forward to him coming back in September.”

Welcome back Duncs!
