The WALDECK Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to welcome back 18-year-old #25 Billy Thorpe for the 2023/24 season!
The young defensemen will be entering his 2nd year of a 3 year contract which will see him in a Phantoms jersey until the 2024/25 season. This season was the first full-time season with the Phantoms for Billy and we are delighted to be able to keep him on the roster for the next 2 seasons.
Billy has stepped up to a permanent position on the Phantoms defensive line, playing over 700 shifts so far in the 2022/23 season and further developing in to playing at a senior level.
Head Coach Slava Koulivov said “Billy has done really well in his first full season and with his dedication and will to improve, has cemented his position in our D Group.
“He is an exceptional skater, good in 1-1 situations and those two points are fundamental for a modern Defenceman. Billy is now concentrating on next steps – in game awareness, passing range & decisions on the puck. When those points improve, I am sure Billy can flourish in to one of the top Ds in the League.”
Billy commented “I’m really looking forward and excited to be back playing in Peterborough next year and can’t wait to continue my development further with Slava and the guys, and hopefully win as much silverware as we can along the way.”
